Year 6 blog - day 1
Y6 Devon Adventure – Monday 10th July 2023
We have arrived safely in beautiful surroundings after a steady journey from school. Thank you to all parents who supported with loading the bus this morning and for waving us off.
On arrival we were taken to our accommodation in the Orchard and the children have all settled into their rooms.
Next, we were whisked off to the beach to enjoy an afternoon of rock-pooling. The children had great fun looking at crabs, anemones, whelks and sea-snails. They worked well in their groups to scavenger for different things on their facts sheets.
This evening, on the menu was spaghetti bolognaise, veggie pasta or fishcake. All children were able to find something to eat and enjoyed the pudding especially – jam roly poly!
Our evening activity was wide games. We trekked down the beach to a small field and played lots of fun games together as a group: our favourites being camouflage and the scream race!
The children have had a busy, but very enjoyable day. We are looking forward to surfing, beach games and an evening around the campfire tomorrow.
