World Book Day:

World Book Day was an unforgettable celebration of the magic of books, stories, and imagination! From the moment the school gates opened, our corridors were filled with a wealth of famous book characters, including wizards, witches, princesses, superheroes, and even a few talking animals! The enthusiasm and creativity shown by both pupils and staff made this year’s event truly special.

One of the highlights of the day was our ‘Imagination Doors’ challenge. Each classroom door was transformed into a stunning 'portal' into a magical book, inspired by the chosen story for the day, which formed the basis of our learning for World Book Day. Our Reading Ambassadors voted for the winning door - the class received a £20 Waterstones voucher to choose some new books for their Reading Corner!

Another fantastic feature of the day was our #TakeAShelfie display for the library. Each child had the opportunity to have their photo taken with their favourite book, celebrating the joy of reading and sharing recommendations with their classmates. We hope our display inspires many future reading choices to come! 

A big thank you to October Books who purchased a £1 book for all pupils at Mansel Park - we hope you enjoy reading your books at home! Additionally, each child has received a £1 voucher from the World Book Day charity - you can spend these at all major retailers.
