Year 1 blog:

Year 1 had the amazing opportunity to revisit The New Forest this term! The children had previously visited Blackwater Arboretum to spot signs of autumn. This time, however, we were keen to spot signs of spring!

We noticed that the leaves had fallen and in their place were buds, showing the promise of new leaves growing! The children also tried hard to be still and quiet so that they could encourage birds to fly above. They wanted to see if the birds were carrying sticks to make their nests! We were lucky to see a few robins searching for worms.

It wouldn’t have been a trip to The New Forest if we didn’t check in on the Giant Sequoias! The children loved revisiting these trees and it has been amazing to hear the amount of knowledge they have retained from our last visit. We cannot wait to revisit the site one final time in Summer 2!
